For the first Nanook Corner of the Month, we give an inside look at the February Schedule for UAF Athletics.

February is going to start off with a bang for Nanook Athletics when the Hockey team hosts their lone in-state rivals, the UAA Seawolves, to kick off this year's Governor's Cup Series. The Gov cup is set for four games this year and the Nooks will be looking to secure the cup yet again. The Governor's cup has not been in Anchorage since 2009. The Nooks will then travel down to Bowling Green for a series against the Falcons on February 15th and 16th, and will host the Minnesota State Mavericks on the 22nd and 23rd.

Looking at the Nanook Basketball teams, the Women will host the first February Matchup when they play UAA tonight. They then will head down to the Lower 48 to take on Montana State Billings this thursday. They'll be at home next week, hosting Western Oregon on Valentine's Day and Concordia on the 16th. They will be at Saint Martin's on the 21st and Seattle Pacific on the 23rd. Their final home game of the month and the penultimate game of the season will be when they host Central Washington on the 28th.

The Nanook Men will host Saint Martin's on Thursday the 7th, and Seattle Pacific on the 9th. Their next series will take them on the road, at central Washington on Valentine's day and at Northwest Nazarene on the 16th. They will then host Simon Fraser on February 21st and Western Washington on the 23rd, before playing the UAA Seawolves in Anchorage on the 26th.

Swimming, Skiing and Rifle will all be finishing their seasons away from home. The Ski team will be competing in state, in the UAA Invite in Anchorage on February 17th and 18th, and the RMISA Championships in Palmer on the 20th and the 22nd. The Swim team will compete in the PCSC Championships from the 13th-16th with the National Championships set for March, and Rifle will have the NCAA Qualifiers on February 16th in El Paso Texas. "
