Army Career Fair Helps Students Chart Professional Path
'US Army Child, Youth and School Services' at Fort Wainwright held the 'Interior Alaska Military College and Career Ready' Fair Thursday evening to help middle and high schoolers define their professional path.
A team from the University of Alaska Fairbanks presented information on 'FAFSA', Federal Aid, and V-A Education Benefits.
ROTC, representatives from the 'Military Interstate Compact Commission,' and the 'Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education' were in attendance as well.
The event was live-streamed online so residents at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson and Eielson Air Force Base could participate.
For Army School Liaison, Michael Campbell, it's important to show children of all ages the different paths one can take.
Michael Campbell; Army School Liaison>>: "Not everybody goes into traditional college, some go into the trades, some go volunteer and then go into college or a trade later, whatever the case may be so we just want to show them that there are options, so it's important for us to support college and career readiness efforts for all children because we really want them to be more successful, these are our future leaders."
