Panda Express opens in Fairbanks

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - It’s a tasty day for the Fairbanks community as the red ribbon was cut this morning at the grand opening of our newest restaurant, Panda Express.

When a new restaurant opens in town, especially one with a familiar name, you can be sure Fairbanks residents will come out in force.

Staff were ready to serve the dozens of people in line this morning to get their first orders of the Chinese kitchen cuisine.

Their menu consists of all the delicious staples like their popular Orange Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Wok Smart healthy dishes and other delicious items to suit your Asian food cravings.

Panda Express is committed to supporting the community it serves. To kick off the grand opening the Fairbanks location donated 50 percent of the pre-tax event proceeds on opening day to the Boys and Girls Club of Fairbanks.

Andrew and Peggy Cherng opened the first Panda Express fast food restaurant in Glendale, California in 1983. Since that time, more than 2,000 stores have opened nationwide and now this popular restaurant has found its home to the Golden Heart City of Fairbanks, Alaska, located at 523 Harold Bentley Ave.
