Incumbent Bart LeBon runs for Alaska House District 31
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Incumbent Bart LeBon is running to represent District 31 in the Alaska House.
He said he is running because after four years in the State House, there’s work to be completed. “We’re in a position, revenue-wise, we have more revenue coming in for the state. The price of oil is well over 100 dollars a barrel. We also have federal infrastructure money that’s coming in over the next several years, so how we spend, save and invest those dollars is the unfinished business that I want to be part of.”
LeBon said Alaska needs to plan for the future. “That includes how we fund essential state services, how we protect the Alaska Permanent Fund not just for this generation or here today, but for my children, grandchildren, and someday their children and grandchildren. We need to save some of this surplus revenue for immediate needs but also for the future.”
During his four years in Juneau, LeBon has served on the House Finance Committee. “I understand the bigger picture financially. I spent 42 years in banking, all in Fairbanks, so I think I know the economic condition, and I can plan for the future for the Fairbanks area, and for the state of Alaska.”
LeBon is running against Kelly Nash and Maxine Dibert in the primary election on August 16.
