FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Snow falling from the roofs and the ice melting from the pavement aren’t the only signs spring is coming to the Interior. The return of the Interior Alaska Building Association’s Home Show (IABA) is considered by Fairbanks builders an unofficial kick-off to spring. As weather permits, builders will be able to get outdoors and begin construction that was on hold during the winter months.
Friday, March 25th was the start of the three-day event and continues through Sunday, March 27 at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks.
In its 38th year, the IABA Home Show’s ‘Star Wars’ inspired theme, “May the Home Be With You” displays just about anything related to house construction and maintenance. In hopes the “Force will be with them” guests can takeaway knowledge from seminars and hands-on demonstrations.
IABA attendee Misty Wells had this to say, “We have been picking up a lot of cards for different things there in the area. We just attended a seminar that had some great information about offers… making offers on houses. Because we are in the market for a house right now., She [The seminar instructor] gave us a lot of good information.”
Her husband Charlie Wells added, “We are actually moving here from Hawaii soon,” expressing his gratitude for attending he continued on to say, “It’s really a wide range of folks, lots of good offerings here. If you are in the market for a home or looking for a home this is really the place to be.”
