Fairbanks Community Food Bank is seeking helping hands
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The holiday season has officially arrived and the Fairbanks Community Food Bank is in search of help before the Thanksgiving rush. The Food Bank has been collecting food items for their largest food drive of the year and seeks volunteers to help with distribution. On the 19th, 20th, and 21st of November the Food Bank will collect food at the doors as they have in years past. After speaking with the Food Bank’s CEO, Anne Weaver, she made is clear that those interested should call in advance to see how many hands are still needed.
Weaver also mentioned, “Thank you Allen Mitchell. Also at Costco, the Fairbanks Police Department will be there collecting food. We need volunteers that are going to be here sorting and organizing them. If you can call and schedule that would be fantastic because if we have too many that would waste your time. And we don’t want to do that. So we need a lot of volunteers onsite throughout the weekend. And we also have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, those are our big distribution days sorting and getting everything ready to go. The more folks we have onsite the better.”
Those interested in volunteering should reach out to The Fairbanks Community Bank by calling (907)-45-Share or (907) 457-4273 and ask for Connor.
