Alaska State Trooper arrested on child sexual abuse charges
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - On Saturday, October 9th, the Kenai Police Department notified the Alaska State Troopers of a minor’s allegation against Benjamin Strachan, 39, of Soldotna.
Investigators began looking into the allegation and found probable cause that Strachan sexually abused multiple victims in the last year.
Strachan was remanded to Wildwood pretrial and is expected to be arraigned in Kenai on Thursday, October 14th.
Strachan has been an Alaska State Trooper since June 2020. He has been assigned in Soldotna his entire career, and is now on leave pending the outcome of the criminal justice system.
The charges in this matter are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt.
