Pet of the Week: Honey the fluffy Jersey Wooly bunny mix
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - If you have a love for fluff, than we have the perfect bunny for you!
Honey is a curious and loving bunny looking for a new forever home. Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Honey is a two-year-old female Jersey Wooly mix bunny. She was surrendered to the shelter and now looking for her new forever home.
Honey has a long coat, so she is the type of bunny that is going to need frequent grooming. We really encourage you to do some research prior to adopting her. She’ll also need routine nail trims just like our cat and dog friends.
If you’ve never owned a bunny before, a few things about them -- they need timothy hay available at all times for their teeth and GI health. They should have a measured amount of pellet food and fresh greens on a daily basis, and miss Honey drinks great out of a water bottle.
Bunnies can be litter box trained and she has done excellent at using her litter box here at the shelter. Honey does like to have a lot of room to wander and explore, so we definitely recommend bunny proofing your house and having an area where she can hop around.
If you are interested in meeting Miss Honey or any of our other bunnies, dogs, or cats, or rooster friends at the shelter, please give us a call!”
