FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Nenana Public School will be giving away books to community members due to the new inclusion of a student resource center in the library.

The book giveaway will take place on the 17th and 18th of May and the school will be offering books of all genres and for all ages.

According to Teena Calkin, Transition Coordinator for Nenana City Public School, the new resource center will include several assets for students preparing for the next stage after high school. Calkin explained, “Now the library is being reimagined and we’re going to update the books that are there and that we’re keeping. Then we’re turning the rest of the library into a resource center for students. That resource center will include computers and computer tables, it’ll include everything that they’ll need for after high school. Whether it’s job opportunities, post secondary, whatever their needs are, we’re going to give them the information that’s all going to be there in the new resource center [and] library.”

The giveaway will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on both days at Nenana Public School.
