FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center is providing a free virtual community talk April 23rd, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., celebrating moosehide and other traditional Alaska Native regalia. They will also talk about regalia in contemporary ceremonies and how to respect the culture and traditions behind its creation and use.

“The smell of moosehide can bring up many heartwarming memories of family and loved ones. This is often because traditional Alaska Native regalia incorporates moosehide, which families usually make and give to other family members to celebrate and recognize leadership and important ceremonies.”

The guest speakers are Miranda Wright and Luke Titus.
