Alaska holds raffle for permits to hunt coveted game
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Those looking to match their hunting skills against some of the most coveted species in Alaska may have a chance to do so.
Thursday, April 15th marks the deadline to enter Alaska’s Super Seven Big Game Raffle for the chance to hunt sought-after game in the state.
The raffle is being held by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the Outdoor Heritage Foundation of Alaska, with proceeds going toward wildlife conservation and other projects.
Each $20 ticket is an entry for the chance to win a permit to hunt certain species.
These include the Unimak Island Brown Bear, the Nunivak Island Muskox, the Alaska Range Caribou, the Delta Controlled Use Area Dall Sheep, the Koyukuk Moose, the Revilla Island Mountain Goat, and the Copper River Bison.
Residents and non-residents 10-years and older can participate if they’re otherwise eligible for the hunting activities.
Winners will be announced on May 1st.
