Pet of the Week: Finnigan the friendly bunny
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - In spite of all things going on in the world, “lettuce” join together today to appreciate this hare-raising furry friend!
Finnigan is a happy bunny who’d appreciate a friend for pets and play!
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say about our Pet of the Week:
“Finnigan is a six month old rabbit. He came to the shelter in a little bit of a rough condition.
He was a little underweight and he also had some urine scalding on his hind legs. He’s been examined by our vet and he’s got a healthy appetite, and he’s putting the weight back on. Our vet thinks just with some clean housing and a clean habitat, the urine scalding on his hind legs should improve drastically.
He is a sweet and adventurous bunny looking for a place to call his new home. He enjoys his Timothy hay, his pellets, and especially his fresh greens. Finnigan also enjoys being petted. He will come up to the edge of his cage and actually look for whoever’s passing by to give him some extra attention. If you are looking for a new bunny to be part of your home, and you think this guy could be the one, please give the shelter a call! We also have a few other bunnies, as well as dogs, a rooster, and a turtle.”
