FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Following President Donald Trump’s impeachment by the U.S. House of Representatives on January 13th, Alaska Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan released statements on social media giving their thoughts on the vote.

Sullivan stated that the charges against President Trump are serious and will be given serious consideration. He went on to write, “I will be a juror, and I will thoroughly examine the arguments and evidence presented, including any defense mounted by the President’s legal team. I will not rush to judgment or make rash statement until this constitutional process has run its course.”

Murkowski called yesterday’s impeachment “appropriate” and contrasted it with what she saw as a more partisan one in 2020. She wrote, “When the Article of Impeachment comes to the Senate, I will follow the oath I made when sworn in as a U.S. Senator. I will listen carefully and consider the arguments of both sides.”
