Pet of the Week: Spirit the sweet as pie Alaskan Husky
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Meet Spirit - the Alaskan who’s sweeter than any dessert.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an Animal Handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say about our Pet of the Week:
“Spirit is an Alaskan Husky. We believe she’s about a year and six months old. Spirit has lived her whole life outside, so if you are planning to bring her indoors, she’s going to need a lot of training.
We like to recommend training just like puppy training. She’s going to need to be house broken, kennel trained. One great way to train these guys is to tie them to you, tie the leash to you and just let them walk next to you.
Spirit is a sweet sweet girl, she loves her animal tenders. She likes to jump on you when you go visit her in the kennel. But she’s very loving and she eats well, drinks well, and she’s just looking for a place to spend her life. Spirit has many other Alaskan Husky friends here as well as cats, bunnies, and turtles up for adoption.”
